Aelin

Ashryver Galathynius

My character is based on the book series Throne of Glass.

If you know the series you may notice a few differences.

AshryverAelinGalathynius, also known as Adarlan’s Assassin and Celaena Sardothien, is the lost queen of Terrasen and the last surviving member of the Galathynius line.

Age: 23

Species: Demi- Fae

Her appearance:

Aelin is described as being particularly beautiful, with long powdered golden hair that shines silver in moonlight. She also possesses Ashryver eyes – bright turquoise eyes with a silver shine splitting the colors in half at the pupil, which serves as the major giveaway to her true identity since her eyes are so distinctive and only run in her family. Standing at an average fae height of 5'5" & 1/2.(yes .5 matters). Aelin’s body is finely honed and trained - as well as curvaceous - as a result of her years spent training and her many battles, Aelin's body is covered in scars, including several large ones across her back which she received while enslaved in a death camp.

Not all demi-fae are gifted immortality although this has been bestowed on Aelin. Aelin also has elongated canines and pointed tipped ears. Which are cut down in her years of training to mask her heritage. They appear once more, later in life when she fully grows into her power and her magic has returned.

Magical Abilities:

Fire magic: Aelin can control and manipulate fire, an ability springing from her Galathynius heritage.  Though she showed no proficiency for it as a child, Aelin was finally able to manifest some control over it after her training and healing at Rowan's side. Still, it is not nearly as strong as her Water. She can create flickers, light a room of candles, and light a flame her weapons for small periods of time. It is said there is no bottom to her well of magic, just loss of physical and mental strength. With more training and time her Fire could possibly be as powerful as her water.

Water magic: Aelin also has a powerful affinity for water magic, which she inherited from her mother's line. She can shape her liquid into shields, daggers, arrows and even rose rivers flooding lands. This is her most powerful ability as there is no limit to her power yet to be discovered, surpassing the majority of full-blooded fae in her power.

Healing:  All fae have the ability to heal, Aelin can mix this with her water magic making the healing process more powerful and faster.

Shape-shifting: Due to her Fae heritage, Aelin is able to shift between two different forms. Her first form is her Fae form, and her secondary form is a wolf. With pure white and a silver pockets shining throughout her coat. This acts as her "animal form".

"We all bear scars ... Mine just happen to be more visible than most."

   History  (background)

Aelin Galathynius was born in the height of summer in the city of Orynth. She spent the first 9 years of her life as the Crown Princess of Terrasen.  Terrasen is one section of land within the continental world of Erila. Her parents loved her dearly, and her uncle doted her on every step. She and her father sometimes took excursions to Oakwald Forest to seek the Lord of the Forest, the mystical Stag that only roamed their kingdom. To see their present would be a blessing and always had a significant meaning. Also known to roam Terrasen were pixies, playing tricks  on people as they wonder. The pixies are known to leave gifts for Aelin and sometimes helpful signs of direction or warning. Because of Aelin's abilities, the court's children avoided her, with the exception of Aedion, who was her only friend and her cousin. With his looks so similar they could be considered twins.

One night, the King of Adarlan, a neighboring land decided to overthrow one of his major political opponents - the royal family of Terrasen. Aelin discovered the deaths of her parents when she climbed into their bed thinking the wetness of the bed was due to the rain, and then she woke up to a maid's screams and discovered the bed was filled not with water but with the blood of her parents. Her mother's dearest friend sacrifices herself to allow Aelin to escape and survive the massacre of her family and bide her time. The King of Adarlan cemented his rule over Erilea by promoting across the country the deaths of the Terrasen nobility, all the while unaware of the survival of Aelin. After the death of her parents. She became the sole heir to the throne of Terrasen. In his advances, the King of Adarlan found a way to band magic throughout the lands. Arobynn Hamel, King of the Assassins, found Aelin half frozen and half dead on the banks of the Avery River outside the palace. He offered her a choice; to stay with him and be trained as an assassin, or he will grant her a swifter death. Aelin chose to join the assassin, killing her first target at the age of ten. She was restyled as Celaena Sardothien to hide her true identity. Her ears were clipped and canines filed as a mask in hiding her fae heritage and to serve as part of her training. Celaena began to train personally under his eye and became one of the best assassins in all of Erilea. She was chosen as his protégée and received the title 'Adarlan's Assassin'. After years of training, Arobynn demanded money to be given in exchange for all the expenses he had made on her. Even though she was forced into paying the debt, she had freedom in choosing the tasks she wished to fulfill. She took any job despite the difficulty. The only tasks she refused to take was one that involved people of Terrasen or one that involved children.

After given tasks that involved slaves. Celaena refuses to complete the task and chooses to free over 3,000 slaves. She completed this task but in return,  she loses her best friend and first love. In seeking revenge she is captured and thrown into a slave labor camp.  The slave labor camp is a salt and iron mine where she is beaten, tortured and whipped daily. Only given iron salt deposits to rub in her wounds which as fae, the iron injures her further scaring her skin even more. Many were known to not last 3 months and she lasts 2 and a half years. Only escaping the daily torture to become the King of Adarlan's personal assassin. Through the years that past, years of training and torture the king of Adarlan does not recognize her. She serves the king for two years,  Celaena undercovers uprisings from her homeland. Biding her time traveling Celena chooses the right task to seek help in escaping his rule. In this journey, she finds a fae. Which is rare to see in a land of no magic. The full-blooded fae, a powerful male warrior who has been doing the bidding for an ancient Fae queen for centuries. Prince Rowan Whitehorn turns out to be looking for her for his own queens purpose. The two are attracted to each other instantly but due to their past and ability to trust they go months not knowing they are true mates. Rowan spends months training Aelin on land that has magic so she will be worthy to enter the Fae realm, so His queen may speak with her. Teaching her control. She begins to apply her magic with her years of physical and magical training, becoming unstoppable. With Rowans help Celanea begins to embrace her past as she begins to go by Aelin once more. Healing herself she begins to gain back her ears and her canines. She learns how to shift and master both forms.

Entering the Fae realm Aelin is taken and captured by the queen who ends up to be Aelin's great Aunt. The primary link to her own Fae heritage. Aelin escapes and threatens the queen with her power. She will not drown the kingdom in its surrounding waters in return for Rowans freedom from her blood oath on him. After Aelin gives a good show of her power, The queen struggles to make the deal but releases the oath, once thought to be an eternal binding contract. Rowan in return offers the blood oath to Aelin claiming his loyalty to her in front of his past queen, serving as a slap in the face to her.  After fleeing the fae realm, Aelin and Rowan work together they take back Adarlan. Aelin kills the king and released the hold of magic on the land. Rowan and Aelin fight to keep peace in the land and take control of Terrasen once more.  Prince Rowan is named King as he Marry's Aelin. Together they rebuild Terrasen and establish their court. It is a daily battle, expecially with the Queen of the Fae as their new enemy.
